By default, the data is replaced by a black bar. The original data is completely replaced and can therefore not be retrieved.

Q: Can the FileFactory automatically mask certain types of data in one document and not in another?

Yes, it is possible to set up the FileFactory in such a way that it replaces scoial security number in documents originating from location A, for example, but not in a document submitted from location B.
